We took most of our inspiration from a major zombie horror film: World War Z. some of the shots, forms and conventions we tried to re-create but for most of it we made it out own whilst still taking inspiration from this.
Our opening title sequence uses our distribution company logo at the start, this is the same as in the zombie horror film 28 days later. According to previous research that we did this is the correct order of titles as explained in out Order Of Titles page in our research section.
Throughout our opening title sequence we showed clips of derelict and deserted woodland, this appears to also be used in other zombie horror films such as: 28 Days Later and World War Z. These clips create a setting for the following film and also add to the scary atmosphere as the thought of an abandoned woodland is frightening.
Our title in our opening title sequence is almost identical to the title in World War Z, the bold font strikes fear into the audience and shows intimidation; this adds ot the fear of the horror film.
We used this turning shot in our opening title sequence, this brought a lot of tension as the audience thinks that it is just a normal person, until it gets up close and the zombie turns round to reveal its gruesome face. This shot was also used in the opening title sequence for the Resident Evil. When we see the woman turn around, she looks normal, this also adds to the fear for our audience.
This shot from The Walking Dead is similar to our shot of the zombie which follows the turning shot, by using the shot it allows the audience to see how the zombie behaves and also makes it more fearful.
At the end of our opening title sequence, we used a similar shot as the one in the Walking Dead, this shot is very intense and leaves the audience what is going to happen next in the following film. Getting a close up of the zombie makes it more scary and realistic.
